06 — From the road
The catamaran day was worth the whole trip — but it's the little things we remember: the taverna owner remembering our names, the sunset sail with nobody else around. WanderCrest thought of everything, including the things we didn't know to ask for.
I've been to Japan three times and this was the first trip that felt considered. Temples before the crowds, a tea ceremony in someone's actual home, two days in an onsen town I'd never heard of. Exactly the Japan I wanted.
We booked this for our tenth anniversary and quietly it was perfect. The sandbank dinner at low tide — we'll never forget it. Even when our flights got delayed, someone was on the other end of the phone sorting it out.
I planned nothing and ate everything. The pasta class alone was worth it, but the winery lunches and the truffle hunt made it a trip I still talk about at dinner parties. Booking again next year with my sisters.
