View itineraryCoast · November – April
Blue whales, spinner dolphins and five unhurried days on Sri Lanka's most beautiful bay.
Mirissa in season is one of the few places on Earth where you can see blue whales — the largest animals that have ever lived — from a small boat with a marine biologist on board. Two whale-watching mornings, a snorkel day and plenty of hammock time on a crescent of palm-shaded sand.
Transfer to your palm-shaded guesthouse; sunset at Coconut Tree Hill.
6am boat to the deep water — whales, dolphins and an ocean breakfast.
A coral-garden snorkel with turtles, then a free afternoon on the sand.
Another dawn departure for the species you missed, then a fishing-village lunch.
One last swim and a transfer to the airport or onward coast.
Base region: Mirissa & Whale Watching — Southern Coast. From November to April, Mirissa's bay hosts blue and sperm whales plus spinner dolphins. Morning boats with marine biologists, then a crescent of beach and palm-shaded cafés.
