Yala is best from February to July (leopards), and the whale season in Mirissa runs November to April. The east coast, including Arugam Bay, is at its best from April to October. Our tours are scheduled within each destination's season, so there's always a good window.

Yes. All our jeeps are modern soft-top 4x4s with seatbelts, and every drive is led by a licensed tracker-guide who follows park rules — no off-road chasing, no crowding animals. We deliberately leave before the convoys so you get space and calm.

Udawalawe's elephant herds are virtually guaranteed year round. Yala's leopards are seen on roughly 8 in 10 drives in season. Whales are seen on 9 in 10 Mirissa mornings in season — and if your first run comes up empty, we take you again free. No wildlife can be guaranteed, but our record is strong.

No. Safari drives are in the jeep, whale watching is from the boat, and beach days are entirely your own. Surfing lessons are optional and adapted to your level. We'd only recommend a basic level of mobility for getting in and out of jeeps and boats.

Light cotton clothing, swimwear, a light layer for early-morning safaris (it's cool at 5am), reef-safe sunscreen, insect repellent and a hat. We send a full packing list with every booking confirmation.

A 20% deposit secures your place. Cancel more than 60 days before departure for a full refund of payments made; 30–60 days, 50%; within 30 days, the deposit is non-refundable unless we can rebook your place.
